Listings

I try to preserve some listings for Omega 30s that come up for sale on the internet. This is mainly for two reasons:

1. Over the roughly 40 years +/- that the Omega 30 has been around, many owners have made modifications or upgrades to their boats that I find interesting to share with others.

2. Those who are interested in buying or selling an Omega 30 can get a bit of a historic market overview, i.e. what kind of boat can be had at which price.

Please note that most of the listings are relatively old and the boats are usually sold.

This 1986 Omega 30S was listed for sale in Roskilde, Denmark in November 2025 for 225,000 DKK (€30,000).

It it seems like an incredibly well-kept and thoroughly upgraded boat. There are so many improvements that have been made that it’s impossible to shortlist them here, so I’ll just provide the full description from the listing below.

The biggest upgrades would certainly include:

  • New Seldén Mast in 2018
  • Engine upgraded to Yanmar 2YM15 in 2015
  • Fully overhauled electric system
  • New keel bolts

“Alfa Omega” is probably one of the most extensive and well-executed refits of an Omega 30S in Denmark. Over the past decade, a larger amount than the current asking price has been invested in a comprehensive technical and cosmetic upgrade from mast to keel. The result is a yacht that appears in exceptionally fine condition – fully ready to sail, with no need for further work. Extensive documentation exists for virtually all improvements and replacements carried out.

Selected improvements and replacements; a detailed list can be provided:

This 1986 Omega 30 S came up for sale in Årøsund, Denmark, also in November 2025 for the price of 150,000 DKK (€20,000).

The boat has received some major technical upgrades, some of which are quite unique and are rarely found on other boats.

The most notable details from the listing description are:

  • A quite advanced pressurized fresh water system with a 20 L hot water boiler (220V), carbon filter and a hand shower that can be pulled out from the bathroom sink through the fore hatch and up onto the deck.
  • A South Pacific Pro 600W electric windlass (pictures indicate the VN600 model) and a bow platform holding a Delta anchor, attached to a 30m 6mm anchor chain
  • Relatively new main sail (2018) and furling genoa (2022)
  • Refurbished Yanmar 1GM engine
  • New fridge compressor
  • Solar panel on the companionway hatch cover and Victron MPPT charge controller
  • 2x 105 Ah Lithium service batteries
  • New upholstery for all cushions

A new gennaker and the dinghy (with electric motor) were listed as optional extras that could be purchased separately.

The pictures also indicate that the fuse/switch panel has been swapped at some point.

This is another Omega 30A on dailyboats.com, that was up for sale in Aaarhus, DK. The description was not giving away many details, but it’s a 1986 model. However, the pictures do give away quite a bit in terms of upgrades that this boat has seen:

  • The deck collar indicates that the mast has been replaced at some point
  • The engine control panel in the cockpit indicates an upgraded engine
  • A polycarbonate window has been added to the front hatch
  • Additional hatch on the cabin roof for more light and air in the main cabin
  • A nice large wooden step on the bow pulpit
  • Additional genoa traveller tracks on the side decks
  • Upgraded multi-sheave halyard blocks on the cockpit roof
  • Upgraded/renewed main traveller system
  • Improved main sheet system with swivel base + cam cleat and ratchet block
  • Self-tailing winches for both sheets and halyards
  • Polycarbonate companionway dropboards
  • A nice, sleek instrument mount above the companionway
  • B&G chart plotter
  • Composite main sail
  • Furling jib/genoa
  • Updated grey color scheme

Altogether, this looks like a very well-maintained boat where the previous owners went to great lengths in terms of (expensive) upgrades. Certainly this Omega is equipped for serious sailing.

This 1986 Omega 30S was listed for sale in Jämsä, Central Finland, for €20,900 (as of April 2021).

According to the seller, “the boat was sailed on the sea until 2000, then used mainly on Lake Saimaa and Lake Päijänne.”

Notable technical details and equipment:

  • Engine: Volvo Penta 9 hp, model year 2001
  • Sails: Main and jib replaced in 1999; original reacher, spinnaker, family spinnaker, and storm jib included
  • Electronics: Updated in 2010, includes Raymarine plotter and tiller pilot
  • Power: 140W solar panel, 60 Ah starter battery, 250 Ah service battery (new 2017)
  • Interior: Mattresses replaced in 2014 (blue upholstery)
  • Comfort features: Heater and cool box

As a kind of unique feature, an equipment arch attached to the pushpit can be seen in the pictures. This is also where the solar panel is mounted. While most boats have been retrofitted with a furling jib by now, this one still has the original hank-on jib.

This 1986 Omega 30S was listed for sale in Västerås, Sweden, for 175,000 SEK (≈€16,000) and sold in August 2019.

The same boat had also been up for sale in 2013 (see below). In the 2013 to 2019 period, the owners made a couple of changes and upgrades to the boat:

  • Added a window to the front hatch
  • New interior cushions (2015)
  • Replaced the wooden sliding doors in the main cabin with what looks like black Polycarbonate
  • Replaced sliding doors in the bathroom with mirrors
  • New boom cover (2015)
  • Hull wet-sandblasted and epoxy-coated with Hempel High Protect (4–6 layers, 2014)
  • Two new 75 Ah batteries (engine + service, 2018).
  • Lightning protection system (2016)
  • Two new anchors (2017)
  • Various new rigging (unspecified)
  • Removed the stove/oven

Notable technical details and equipment:

  • Engine: Yanmar 1GM, 9 hp, shaft drive
  • Tanks: Fuel 25 L, water 71 L, holding tank with deck discharge
  • Sails: Mainsail (Boding Cruising Laminate, 2009), self-tacking jib (2010)
  • Deck gear: Harken MKII furling forestay
  • Power: Solar panel, battery charger

This 1986 Omega 30S was listed for sale in Arkösund, Sweden, for 235,000 SEK (≈€20,500) and sold in July 2013.

It is the same boat as above.

Notable technical details and equipment that are not already listed above:

  • Electronics: Garmin 420s GPS, Autohelm electronic compass (1998), Autohelm wind/log/depth instruments (1998), autopilot, AIS Class B transponder (Saab R4)
  • Deck gear: Six Lewmar winches, double sheet tracks, sprayhood (2009)

An interesting detail about this boat is the instrument panel above the companionway. While a panel like this is found on many boats (old and new alike), the Omega 30 did not have it. In this case it looks like the owners made their own panel to accommodate the instruments for better readability from the cockpit.

Also, the original all-wooden folding table in the main cabin has been replaced with a fixed tabletop on stainless steel legs.

The original stove that was later removed is still present in these pictures.

This 1986 Omega 30A was listed for sale in Västerås, Sweden, for 295,000 SEK (≈€25,700) in June 2008.

Notable technical details and equipment:

  • Interior upgrades: Newly reupholstered cushions; cabin floor replaced with wooden flooring; brass-framed mirror; barometer; galley stove with oven (2005); toilet replaced in 2004; full set of crockery, glasses, and cutlery
  • Navigation & electronics: Autohelm (likely needs service); log and wind instruments; VHF (possibly defective)
  • Deck & cockpit: Teak cockpit floor; cockpit table; refurbished sprayhood and boom cover
  • Sails & rigging: Mainsail (Boding, 2003, full battens); storm jib; one working jib; two 64 m² spinnakers; removable running backstays
  • Winter equipment: Metal cradle; aluminium winter cover frame (Press & Son)

Altogether, at the time of the sale, this boat looked to be mostly in stock condition. The only notable upgrades would be the then new-ish oven (likely a Techimpex Classic) and toilet.

This 1984 Omega 30A was listed for sale in Göteborg, Sweden, in 2025 for 129,000 SEK (≈€11,750 ; reduced from 160,000 SEK).

A well-equipped boat with significant upgrades, a modern engine, and recent keel repairs.

Notable technical details and equipment:

  • Engine: Yanmar 2YM15 (2006)
  • Sails:
    • Self-tacking jib (North Sails 3D Dacron, 2017, lightly used)
    • Additional headsails: genoa, older self-tacking jib, 110% jib
    • Three mainsails (original, Rebell, Gransegel)
    • Two spinnakers with gear
  • Hull & keel: Keel and keel attachment fully repaired in 2024 by Steve Olsson AB; hull scraped and epoxy-treated in 2017; VC17 bottom paint, later Trilux (recent 2 years)
  • Deck & exterior: Aft swim platform with swim ladder; sprayhood and sail cover (2017); upgraded plexiglass forehatch
  • Electronics & electrical: Solar panels; shore power; updated wiring; TV screen with DVD player
  • Interior & comfort: Compressor fridge; modern gas stove (looks like Techimpex Mariner Deluxe) with oven + two gas bottles; Thermia heater (needs service)

The swim platform is certainly something that you don’t see too often on the Omega 30. The wooden interior likely needs some care.

I found this listing without any date, description, location or price on the internet, but I still find it has a couple interesting details:

  • Interesting speaker placement on the main bulkhead
  • TV screen placement above quarter berth on port side
  • The galley seems to be refurbished with a new sink and a removable countertop piece on the stove, maybe also a pressurized fresh water system
  • The stove is not the original and has been upgraded
  • The engine has been upgraded to a Yanmar 2GM20
  • The front hatch has been painted white. This will still let some light through, but looks nicer than the raw fiberglass which is the default

This Omega 30A was listed on dailyboats.com in Svendborg, DK and at the time I saved the images, no description was available any more. However, this is the boat that was reviewed here. According to the 2015 article, the asking price was 200,000 DKK (≈€26,800), but the boat also had a brand new engine and according to the authors was well-equipped and in good overall shape.

Non-standard features of this boat that are not mentioned in the article but can be seen in the pictures would include:

  • A teak rub-rail on the side
  • Two additional genoa traveller rails on each side, one on the side deck and one on the cabin roof (instead of the self-tacking rail)
  • A TV screen and speakers on the port side of the main cabin

This 1987 Omega 30S was for sale in Gyldendal, DK in 2025 for the low price of 90,000 DKK (≈€12,000).

Some notable technical modifications/upgrades include:

  • Engine upgraded to a 22HP Vetus in 1995
  • Furling main sail from 2011
  • Up-to-date Garmin GNX instruments
  • Round portlights/hatches for the quarter berths facing the cockpit
  • Teak rub-rail
  • Maybe a pressurized fresh water system (judging by the looks of the taps by the galley and bathroom sinks)
  • Speakers mounted in the port side corners in the main cabin

Interestingly, the traveller track has been entirely removed in favor of a different sheeting system that is attached to where the traveller sheets used to be. From the pictures it is not entirely clear how this works, but it seems to be sort of a “bridle” system.

This 1986 Omega 30S was for sale in Hestehoved (Hakskov), DK in 2025 for the price of 69,000 DKK (≈€9,250).

The listing had very little info despite that the engine is still the original Yanmar 1GM. It had plenty of interior photos that show a completely stock interior. A VHF radio had been installed at one point but removed later.

The mast foot indicates that this boat still has the original Isomat mast, too. It even lacks genoa winches. Altogether, little to no upgrades have been made, but the boat still looks well-maintained with a freshly painted bottom.
